about me

Leo Sun. Gemini Moon. Taurus Rising.

Steven Nicolás Franco (he/him/él) is a first-generation Guatemalan-American theatre artist and arts administrator, originally from and currently based in the DMV area. A proud child of immigrants, he is deeply committed to using storytelling as a tool for celebration, access, and community-building. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from George Mason University.

He is passionate about highlighting Latiné stories and uplifts art by and for communities of color, rooted in the belief that the work behind the scenes is just as powerful as what happens onstage. He has performed with Signature Theatre, GALA Hispanic Theatre, Monumental Theatre Company, Imagination Stage, and Olney Theatre Center. Select credits include In the Heights, Frida Libre, Cinderella: A Salsa Fairy Tale, and Spring Awakening.

Offstage, Steven brings his creativity and passion to arts administration, with a strong background in marketing, audience engagement, social media, and connectivity. He has worked at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Arena Stage, and Theatre Washington, developing strategies that connect communities to theatre, leading digital campaigns, and supporting ticketing operations and audience growth. He is a proud alum of the Lin-Manuel Miranda Family Fellowship.

Guided by the music, stories, and sabores of his upbringing, Steven strives to make theatre a space where artists and audiences alike feel seen, welcomed, and empowered. He believes theatre should be bold, joyful, and full of corazón, reflecting the richness and resilience of the communities it serves.
